Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai Healing for Mind & Body
Saugus/Lynn Massachusetts Burlington/Woburn Massachusetts Vermont & Other New England Locations
Jikiden means 'directly passed down'. In this case, it refers to the lineage from the founder of Reiki, Dr. Usui, to Dr. Hayashi, to Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao. Together Chiyoko and Tadao Yamaguchi taught Reiki exactly as she received it from Dr. Hayashi when she was 17 years old. It hasn't been to the West until now. Nothing was dropped and nothing was added to the system. To learn, one must agree to not change anything about it, to keep it purely passed down. It's believed that when Mrs. Takata brought Reiki to the USA, she taught the system as she received it from Dr. Hayashi. After her death, her students got together and standardized and 'westernized', the system, based on their collective memory of her classes. This resulted in what is known as 'Traditional Usui' or 'Western' Reiki. As Western Reiki spread around the world, it acclimated itself to every culture and belief system it met along the way. Reiki needed to do that, in order for everyone to have Reiki! But now we're blessed that we can learn Jikiden Reiki too ~ the original, simple and pure Reiki system that focuses like a laser beam at particular physical issues, while also healing from the inside out to ensure the root cause is also healed. Dr. Hayashi's method of Reiki emphasized that attitudes and understandings of Reiki were as important as the methods employed for using the energy. The Jikiden system of Reiki honors and promotes and teaches the entirety of the course as taught by Hayashi Sensei. Jikiden Reiki ~ Shoden (Level One, Parts 1 - 3)
