Jikiden Reiki Seminars

Shoden

First Level ~ Parts 1 – 3

The first level of Jikiden Reiki Seminars is Shoden which means ‘first teaching’.  Shoden establishes your foundation within this original and honored Reiki tradition. The teachings focus on how to heal yourself and others at the physical level.

To begin, you hear how Reiki was discovered by Dr. Usui in 1922 and how the system of healing was developed.  You’ll learn about where the Reiki energy comes from and how it optimizes our health and well being.  Some techniques include using your eyes and breath to heal, as well as your hands.  You’ll develop sensitivity in your hands to scan for problems in the receiver’s body; you master a technique to move blocks and toxins from the receiver’s body; and you practice techniques to increase your Reiki flow.  You receive the first of three Reiki shirushi (the others are given in second level). This shirushi is used to break up negative energies that cause illness and dis-ease. The seminar provides lots of Jikiden Reiki practice. Be prepared for note taking, rather than try to remember everything!

You receive three Reiju in Shoden.  You also receive the official Jikiden Reiki training manual and other beneficial handouts.  Believe me, you’ll be glad to have these materials to help you remember all you learn!

You receive two certificates:

  • At the end of your Jikiden Reiki Seminar you receive a beautiful Japanese/English certificate.
  • Approximately two weeks later you receive a beautiful Japanese certificate like Dr. Hayashi Sensei gave his students.  It is printed and registered at the Institute in Tokyo.  You can come receive it at a Reiju Kai (details below) or it will be mailed to you.

Okuden

Second Level ~ Parts 1 & 2

The second level of the Jikiden Reiki Seminar is called Okuden which means ‘inner teaching’. It consists of two sections. Students receive one Reiju in each section.  Rich in history, theory and practice, you leave with a full compliment of new tools to heal yourself and others.

After completing the Okuden course you will be able to:

  • Treat yourself and others with the Sei Heki Chiryo to change unwanted habits. Such habits could include worrying too much, stubbornness, procrastination, excessive anger or even eating too many sweets!
  • Treat addictive habits such as smoking, drug dependency or drinking too much.
  • Treat mental and emotional issues such as the effects of trauma, PTSD, autism and Alzheimers.
  • Learn a powerful method to provide Reiki to people in the next room, or anywhere in the world for that matter! We can’t always be with the person who wants help from Reiki, so learning how to provide Reiki this way is extremely empowering!
