L ... is for Love There are basically two emotions in the world: Love and Fear. There is Love, nourishing, life affirming Love. Then there is Fear, which encompasses all other emotions including anger, pain, grief, sadness and depression. The challenge is to simply decide to operate our lives with love, to choose love in every circumstance rather than fear. Using love to operate our lives does not relate merely to our families, friends and romantic interests, but should circle out to include all of our relationships no matter how brief or inconsequential. It is by operating our lives with love that we will come to true happiness, security and peace. Self responsibility comes into this equation. We must be active participants in our own lives and 'grab the bull by the horns" so to speak, instead of waiting for others to make our decisions for us and orchestrate our lives. In our dealings with other people, we must be scrupulously honest with ourselves when we look at our motives for doing the things we do and always take our actions with love. When we act with love and we are honest in our motivations we will choose to do the thing which will bring the best solution to a matter, leaving grace and dignity for those involved. In human actions, there is usually no good guy/bad guy but simply people who are trying to live, grow, and fulfill their purpose in life. We are the ones who create the good guy/bad guy with our actions and judgements - after all, doesn't there have to be a good guy and a bad guy? The answer is no. There are usually people in pain, who are struggling to learn their life lessons. If we find ourselves in sticky situations with people who are the 'bad guys' we need to find out why we are attracted to persons who are troubled and operating under fear (which, remember, incorporates many emotions), rather than persons who are operating under love. We will find as we grow in wisdom that there is no need to force someone into the bad guy role...just wish them well and on their way and realize that they are here on this earth for the same reason you are, to learn their life lessons and to learn their life's purpose. This, in turn, will leave you free to go your way and continue to evolve your own consciousness. Remember that, most importantly, we must be scrupulously honest with ourselves in assessing our interactions with other people. Make sure you are honest with yourself, really honest, when you check your motives for the actions you take. You can't go wrong if you do this. Promise yourself you will operate under Love. |
